    It's Mid-August now and summer is almost over. Check out our free tips on how to be happy? In yoga, we as yogis and yoginis are often seen as the hedonists in the society. Life itself should feel good and perfect for most of the time. After all, life is so amazingly short and fleeting. It's crucial to stay happy and not let the bad things in life affect/ steal your happiness.

    Tip 1: Go volunteering

    The truth is that there are many people who are less fortunate than you are in this world. When you go volunteering, you will feel less sorry for the possible setbacks you may be experiencing. Whether you are volunteering at your nearby school as a reading mom, or giving a free yoga class for the prisoners at prisons, or just volunteering for your local SPCA pet adoption/ donation charity, you usually will feel happier after volunteering your time when you realize that others been helped by you. It's never really as bad as it may seem when you still have a roof above your head.

    Tip 2: Go for a walk

    Just walking for 30-35 minutes a day can improve your overall well being and committing to moderate exercise can increase the oxygen level in your body and lower your blood pressure. Get moving and keep your body functioning and maintain yourself in great shape. 

    Tip 3: Journal and write down your goals and express emotions

    It's vital to keep a wellness journal to check in with yourself and write down your goals and the challenges you may be facing. Check in with your soul from time to time and you will discover more about yourself and keep your dreams in check. Sometimes, keeping a personal journal can help relieve some stress and help with your self-healing process whether you are going through a horrible divorce, breakup, or job-loss, medical condition or family crisis situation. Always been proactive and be a problem solver and you will sure feel much better soon as time goes on.

    Tip 4: Eat lots of fruits and veggies

    Eat clean and wholesome food. Try not to put any food into your mouth if it's not grown from the soil or derived directly from an animal food source. Avoid excess sugar or artificial sweeteners from your soda drinks/ chocolate snack bars/ chewing gums. Sometime you really can become what you eat. Be careful of the kind of food you are putting into your body. Stay away from fast food and red meat/ processed meat. Stay away from food that will damage your body/ internal organs. Your body is a very delicate machine that needs the cleanest fuel to fuel you so you can run your body for a long period of time.

    Tip 5: Catch up with some good friends

    Sometimes, catching up with a couple of good high school friends or colleagues can be very good for your mental health. Cherish your real friends who will be there through all the highs and lows in life. Be kind to one and another and you will never know when you will need to ask them for help during hard times.

    Tip 6: Practice gratitude and meditate

    There are many studies that show that meditation is very good for calming your mind. We can't stress how important it is to turn on some good meditation music for at least 10 mins. minimum a day and just lay down in a comfortable position and not stress about things and let all the bad things go. When your mind is healthy, your body will be healthy. When your mind is unhealthy, your body will suffer in many different ways.

    Tip 7: Get a yoga class

    Anyone who has a healthy, functioning body can possibly do yoga really well. Yoga is for anyone who is interested in enhancing their mind, body, and soul. Sometimes, taking a yin class can be very beneficial for your body. It's always nice to stop at the edge where it's the boundary before it gets uncomfortable and just hold it there for a couple of minutes.     Tip 8: Go to bed early

    Yes go to bed early and try to wake up early in the morning. Try not to play with your phones/ use your laptop for too long as the blue lights can keep you up at night time. You need at least 8-10 hours of beauty sleep if you don't find those fine lines and wrinkles later on in life.

    Tip 9: Exercise in the morning 

    Always try to exercise in the morning as there are plenty of interesting studies that show that people who complete workouts in early mornings tend to lose more calories than those who workout at night. You can get more reward and yield more results when you exercise in the morning at your best in the morning. Your body is at the best state after you wake up and recharged at night, so seize that time and workout your sexy body in the morning. Stay happy and live a long healthy life.

    Tip 10: Try to squeeze out a smile at a stranger

    However bad your situation is, it shall improve once you take care of your circumstances with a positive attitude. You need to stay positive and keep smiling no matter what, it's a sign of great confidence. There are researches that show that when you try to squeeze out a smile to a stranger even when you didn't want to, you may slightly feel better as a result. A positive mind can lead to positive things and a negative mind will lead to negative things. You are welcome to choose to bring more happiness and fortune into your life when you smile.

    Whenever you are feeling blue, anxious or simply depressed, notice that there's always a solution to every single problem as long as you don't give up. Try journaling or talk to a therapist or a healthcare professional, or your friends and family. Where there is a will, there is a way. Life is too short to stay unhappy. Life can be really difficult and hard to deal with at times. But every challenge you encounter is supposed to make you stronger. Always exercise your best judgement, work hard, and think good thoughts and believe in the abundance in life, so your good fortune and prosperity will manifest at various levels in your life.

    How To Spot A Bad Boss At Your First Job Interview? Many Big Red Flags To Watch Out For!

    This is a wellness and motivational corporate workplace wellness blog for those of you who are struggling to look for a job right out of college/ graduation school/ or after you got laid off/ terminated from a previous position. What to do when times are rough? I know you must be stressed out with how to pay off your student loans after college? Or you have a family emergency that needs financial support? We all know that we all need to save up for a lot of money just to survive, at least 10% of money for all sorts of emergencies that life can throw at us consistently from time to time.

    A lot of people feel the urge to just take on any job after they quit a bad job. Maybe you have a really bad toxic boss, or gossipy work environment that is very hard to take. We all know that work is hard and we need to deal with many difficult people/ situations daily. Stress can really build up over time. Sometimes, it is better for you to quit a bad job when you find your health is declining or when your boss/ colleagues are cancerous.

    You may find your immune system weakening as you catch that flu/ serious cold at work from your colleague from time to time. Sometimes, you may not even want to call in "sick" as you don't want to get fired by your boss. Heading to work sick is detrimental for your work performance and for those around you. A bad job environment can possibly cause cancerous cells to build up in your mind and body, so you need to pay special attention to your health and wellness. Usually, you can already spot a bad boss before you begin a job that turn out to be really terrible from the very start. And then, you wish you read this article before all the hellish incidents occur when you get a boss from hell.

    Maybe we should all call it a blessing in disguise when you get rejected by a really horrible position/ rude recruiter. Starting a bad job can put you back in an even worse position than you first started. It's a harsh reality that a lot of corporations/ small companies just hire and fire very easily. And you may find yourself in a job search situation again if you did not notice the red flags during a bad job interview. Don't just ignore the red flags and do address them and always listen to your gut/ intuition during the interview.

    Listen to their tone voice, pay attention to their body languages. Look for the red flags.

    Did they seem sincere? 

    Were they kind and approachable? 

    Were they criticizing at every sentence you have to say?

    Were they interrupting you every time you try to say something?

    Were they engaged or disinterested in the conversation?

    Were they late? If so, did it go pass 1-2 hours?

    Did they apologize for their lateness?

    Did they forget your job interview?

    Did they even show up for the job interview?

    Did they tear your resume apart after your job interview in front of you? Did they reject you in the face at that job interview? 

    Did they give you their business cards?

    Did they raise their voice and yell at you? 

    Did they undermine your ability/ self-worth?

    Did they make you feel "less-than" or inferior?

    Did they badmouth their coworkers/ boss/ said anything bad about their projects?

    Did they ask you personal questions that's illegal to ask for during the interview?

    Did they ask about your marital status? Did they say anything that offends your race/ ethic groups?

    Do you think they were discriminating against minorities?

    Did they tell you they won't hire a pregnant woman?

    Did they ask you if you are planning on getting pregnant?

    Did they ask you about your religion/ political affiliations? In some countries, these questions are illegal to ask or say during a job interview.

    Were they physically touching you inappropriately and that you felt uncomfortable?

    Did they cuss at you?

    Did they rush your questions?

    Did they give you a weak handshake?

    Did they give you a distant mean look?

    Did they say that their office doesn't offer any career development and that your career growth is not valued at their firm?

    Did they seem to enjoy their work?

    Were they consumed by negativity?

    Did they say that they already know everything about your ever changing industry/ profession and therefore do not need any continuing education to stay updated?

    Did they seem very arrogant?

    Did they seem pushy?

    Did they seem like a bully exerting their dominance against you?

    If your interviewer did any of those things, it's already considered as a bad interview and they can haunt or possible ruin your future career. You can consider to continue to observe or run like wind as needed. Always listen to your gut feeling. Only you know yourself best, and no one else can make the decision for you.

    At the end of the day, the interview is also called "inter-view", it means a mutual conversation between both the 2 parties, "the interviewers", and "the interviewee".

    If you feel disrespected in any way, even the same treatment when you get the job also. If they can swear at you during the interview, you can also expect them to cuss at you and repeat that behavioral pattern during work when you get hired. Ask yourself if this is the kind of work environment you want to work at at the end of the day? If it's not, then it's better to move on than to extend your welcome at that company.

    Just as the famous Eleanor Roosevelt Quotes says, "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission".

    It's quite true, it's important to set your boundaries, and if you no longer feel comfortable in a conversation, you can totally just close the conversation and move on with your life and never look back. As for the breakdown of the conversation, it's always almost better to let the interviewer talk from 80-90% of the time. People usually like to talk about themselves, but be careful not to interrogate the interviewer and some interviewers can get really offended. 

    What to do when an interview really does go south in the end?

    If you feel very disrespected by the interviewer after they raised all the big red flags as discussed above, you can simply kindly close out the interview and carefully exit the conversation and possibly run for your life. Thank them for their time and move on. Always act professional and never lose your cool and professionalism. Some workplaces are simply toxic and it's also funny how some recruiters have no filters. It's better to just permanently close that door and move on with your life. 

    Corporate Psychopaths, Workplace Bullying

    There are many corporate psychopaths in the workplace, they are usually very successful with their own careers who really know how to bully in packs and flatter their bosses. They are like the popular kids in high school. You see all these corporate psychopaths flourishing in the corporate world and they abusive their power while backstabbing their colleagues to get ahead in life. They are like cold-blooded reptiles and have no empathy or feelings. They are secretly very insecure with themselves and would do whatever to attain their goals in order while climbing the corporate ladder. These people usually like to say, "We are very straightforward people, and we will tell you right at your face if we don't like you."

    Don't drop them to their level and keep your inner peace. These office rats are everywhere as they could be just as easy to find as those random crazy people on the street. Normal sane people don't just abuse and want to destroy other human beings. They must be hating on their jobs and therefore they are in deep pain and want to ruin your day too. Just ignore them. It doesn't matter. There's no point of having them yell/ scream/ spit and disrespect you if they are not even going to give you that job that you thought you wanted. There's not a chance that they will give you good opportunities for any form of career growth/ development where your unique skills can't be fully realized or utilized.

    At the end of the day, the world is a big and abundant place full of unlimited potential and possibilities, so why bother hang onto that bad job/ interview that wasted your time and energy? Don't be reactive to their rudeness and keep searching for the next big opportunity. Maybe it's time to self-reflect onto what you really want in your next position or simply contemplate if you like to start your own business? What's your passion? What do you really want for your life? Start fresh, grab a piece of paper and write down your strength and start forming a vision board and a goal and road map for the next chapter of your life.

    A lot diseases can be prevented if you take good care of yourself. Examples include do enough moderate exercises, sleep, and food intake. These are general health tips that may improve your quality of life. A lot drugs are bad for your kidneys and what not live in a healthy way before your health deteriorate till your health decline. You can live well for a long time if you take good care of yourself. You are responsible for your own health and you can dig your own grave with what you put into your mouth. 

    A lot of doctors and pharmaceutical companies are very corrupt and unethical, they make huge profits off of terminally sick patients by injecting them with drugs that are highly toxic.

    Tip 1: Go Vegan and Organic + Non-GMO

    Vegetarians tend to live longer and healthier lives. Eat less animal proteins that are loaded with cholesterol such as dairy or meat products. Don't eat any old, aged, processed meat such as ham/ sausage that are very harmful ingredients that are also cancer-causing. Eat only wholesome and vegetarian food and build on the alkalinity in your body. Animal proteins can caused inflammation in your body.

    Don't take any food or use any products if you are unsure of what the ingredients on the packaging. Always speak to your trusted doctors first if you can.

    Tip 2: Walk and commit to moderate exercises

    Just walking for 30-35 minutes a day can improve your overall well being and committing to moderate exercise can increase the oxygen level in your body and lower your blood pressure. Get moving and keep your body functioning and maintain yourself in great shape. 

    Tip 3: Eat less salty/ deep fried food

    High sodium intake are bad for your body. Deep fried food can also potentially cause genetic mutations in your body and damage your DNA.

    Tip 4: Reduce alcohol intake

    If you are a recovering alcoholic, this is something to be careful about. Alcohol intake has a direct relationship with high blood pressure.

    Tip 5: Drink less caffeinated drinks

    Reduce your caffeine intake such as tea or coffee. Caffeine can increase your blood pressure.

    Tip 6: Eat less sugary snacks

    Eat less packaged sugary snacks such as sweet popcorn/ cookies that are rich in sugar and toxic preservatives. This can reduce your high blood pressure. Put down that surgery soda that is filled with sugar that can raise your blood sugar. Cancer cells also love sugar. So, please protect your body and reduce your sugar intake as much as you can. Stop adding sugar into your coffee or milk tea if you can.

    Tip 7: Increase your potassium intake in your diet

    In order to achieve successful aging and reduce your blood pressure, increase the intake of food that are rich in potassium such as banana, avocado, apricots, melons, oranges, wild salmon, nuts, and beans, Generally, eating more fresh wholesome fruits, and green veggies can effectively reduce your blood pressure.

    Tip 8: Eat some dark cocoa rich chocolate

    Interestingly, eating some chocolate can potentially relax your blood vessels, and also reduce your blood pressure if it's done right. Eating extra dark chocolate that are rich in flavonoids can help the blood vessels to enlarge. Make sure you are choosing chocolate that has no added sugars and try to find organic, and non-gmo in possible.

    Tip 9: Increase your calcium intake

    Cigarette smoke can potentially cause an increase in your blood pressure while damaging your blood vessels. High blood pressure and smoking can increase your chances of developing chronic heart disease or even triggering heart attack. Therefore, stopping your smoking habits can protect the health of your heart.

    Tip 12: Cut back on your refined carbohydrates intake

    Many studies have shown that when patients eat less carbs, their blood pressure reduced to a more normal level. Again, low-carbs diets are generally healthier for our human body and can reduce a lot of deadly cancer diseases.

    Tip 13: Increase your calcium intake

    Calcium rich diets have been found to linking healthy blood pressure levels. You can get a lot of calcium from tofu, green veggies (like kale or spinach), soy milk and more. If you are lactose intolerant, you can still get calcium in a lot of food. Examples such as chia sees that are also rich in omega 3 fatty acids. Yogurt are rich in calcium and are also very good for your gut health. Almonds are also rich in calcium. Get some almond milk if you enjoy the taste of almond milk. 

    Tip 14: Get some natural supplements

    Try fish oil, aged garlic extract if your doctor allows these supplements. These supplements may help to reduce your blood pressure levels. Also check the ingredients carefully and watch out for red flags and warning labels. A quick tip is that usually USDA certified organic supplements tend to be a little safer to use as it had to go through extra screening. However, shoppers buy at their own risk and also check with your healthcare professional first before buying.

    Tip 15: Relax, meditate, get a massage

    People with high blood pressure tend to be more agitated, tensed and irritable. So, why not get into a routine of meditation, or get a relaxing massage to relax and not go insane/ overly reactive to the chaos of the world. We will be sure if you just take a deep breath, and look at things in a different way and put things into perspective all things shall pass eventually. Everyone's body is different and it's important to manage your stress response to the things around you. Most people have a general threshold to tolerate stress levels and your muscles will eventually relax and your neck or shoulder pain will go away if you are working in front of your desk for too long for instance. Your body is consistently telling you how they are acting by subtly sending your small signals/ body symptoms daily. Try to listen closely to your body and look after yourself well. For instance, you can start with completing your standard annual health checks. (This is especially crucial for men and women above the age of 30 to maintain regular checkups before it is too late.)

    Tip 16: Low sodium intake

    It's important to take in less salt if possible for your diet and general health. Salt can dehydrate your body. It is generally going to be harmful for your internal organs when your organs are dehydrated and they will need to work extra hard just to function.
